BBJ FAQs
BBJ used to be sold for less, why the change?
I've always been upfront and honest as a business, which is what I expect from other businesses. At the end of the day, it's just me doing this so I'm going to be as upfront as I can be: After the tariffs that hit in early 2025, I saw so many small companies close their doors. Which really sucks to see as a small business. I told myself that wouldn't happen to me. I tried to cut cost and still maintain quality as best as I could but the reality hit after a long financial meeting: I was losing money, even after doing all I could. Except raising the price. So I had to face a decision: I could either raise my prices, or close my doors. And I would rather have Judy's be more expensive than no more Judy's ever again. If things change in the future and I can lower them back down, you have my word! So thank you for the support, I'm still here and I'm going to keep pumping out your favorite bass pedal(s) until they take me away.
Does Big Booty Judy play nice with other pedals?
Absolutely! BBJ is great by itself but also with other pedals.
I personally stack it with my preamp, overdrive and chorus all individually and then altogether.
I rarely use BBJ by itself, I find it really opens up when used in conjunction with other pedals.
You will need to adjust your settings on BBJ depending on what you’re stacking before or after but you’ll find it also enhances the flavor of the other pedals so well.
Where in the signal chain would you recommend putting BBJ?
First off, there are no rules!
You do what you want for what sounds best for you and YOUR tone, it’s highly encouraged.
For me personally and as a general guideline, I put it after my compressor and before any modulation.
But again, you do what sounds best for your tone!
